Overview

ReGen BCAA Watermelon features a beneficial BCAA ratio and includes L-Citrulline Malate at a dose that may offer acute benefits. The inclusion of electrolytes and raw coconut water concentrate aids hydration. However, L-Citrulline Malate is on the lower end of effective dosing (1g vs typical 4-8g for performance benefits), and electrolyte doses are relatively small. The overall effectiveness is good for muscle recovery and hydration, but performance enhancement from Citrulline Malate may be limited by its dose.

The Good

Optimal BCAA 2:1:1 Ratio: Provides the scientifically backed 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine (3g L-Leucine, 1.5g L-Isoleucine, 1.5g L-Valine), effective for muscle protein synthesis and recovery.

Hydration Support: Contains beneficial electrolytes (Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium) and Raw Coconut Water Concentrate to aid in rehydration and maintain fluid balance during and after exercise.

Bioavailability Enhancement: Includes Black Pepper Fruit Extract (Bioperine) to improve the absorption and effectiveness of other ingredients.

The Bad

Suboptimal L-Citrulline Malate Dose: At 1000mg, the L-Citrulline Malate dose is lower than the 4-8 grams typically studied and recommended for significant performance enhancement benefits.

Artificial Ingredients: Contains artificial sweeteners (Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose) and artificial colors (Red #40), which may be undesirable for some consumers, particularly given concerns surrounding Red #40.

Minor Electrolyte Contribution: While present for hydration, the individual doses of Magnesium, Sodium, and Potassium are relatively low and provide only a small percentage of daily needs.
