Overview

While potassium citrate is a well-established ingredient for kidney stone prevention and potassium repletion, the efficacy of this particular product is severely limited by its extremely low dosage. Each capsule provides only 99 mg of potassium, which is merely 2% of the daily value. Therapeutic doses for kidney stone prevention typically range from 40-60 mEq/day (approximately 1560-2340 mg of elemental potassium), making this product's offering negligible for its advertised benefit of "Salud renal" (Kidney health). For general potassium supplementation, while it contributes, much higher doses are often prescribed for deficiencies.

The Good

Formula contains potassium citrate, a well-researched form of potassium.

Extremely low dosage minimizes the risk of hyperkalemia for most users.

The Bad

Severely underdosed with only 99 mg of potassium per capsule, making it ineffective for its advertised benefits.

Lack of transparency regarding the total amount of potassium citrate, only elemental potassium is listed.

Marketing claims of "Salud renal" (Kidney health) are highly misleading given the insufficient dosage.

Is it for you?

Best For: Individuals with diagnosed hypokalemia (low potassium), or those prone to certain types of kidney stones (e.g., calcium oxalate stones) under medical supervision.

Skip If: You have kidney disease, Addison's disease, severe dehydration, or are taking potassium-sparing diuretics or ACE inhibitors, without consulting a doctor.
