Overview

Fibrinex combines several proteolytic enzymes that may support normal coagulation and reduce inflammation. Bromelain and nattokinase are dosed reasonably well and supported by research, while lumbrokinase, serratiopeptidase, and alpha-chymotrypsin have less robust evidence. The supplement may offer synergistic benefits, but more research is necessary to validate its overall effectiveness.

The Good

Contains Bromelain at Clinically Relevant Dose: The 500mg dose of bromelain is within the range shown to be effective for reducing pain and inflammation.

Includes Nattokinase which Has Proven Blood Pressure Benefits: Nattokinase has been shown to significantly reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

May Support Normal Coagulation: The combination of enzymes may synergistically support healthy coagulation.

The Bad

Potential Interactions with Anticoagulants: Nattokinase, lumbrokinase, and alpha-chymotrypsin may interact with anticoagulant medications, increasing the risk of bleeding.

Insufficient Long-Term Safety Data: Long-term safety data is lacking for most ingredients, especially lumbrokinase and serratiopeptidase.

Gastrointestinal Side Effects: Some individuals may experience gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea or flatulence due to bromelain and other enzymes.

Is it for you?

Best For: Individuals seeking targeted support for a specific physiological function (e.g., fibrinolysis, gut health), as determined by ingredients.

Skip If: You are pregnant, nursing, or have pre-existing medical conditions without consulting a healthcare professional.
