Overview

Chanca Piedra is traditionally used for kidney stones and other conditions. While a 2018 clinical study showed some promise in reducing kidney stone size, the overall evidence base is weak, with most data coming from animal and test-tube studies. There is a lack of robust human research to support many of the traditional claims, and the effectiveness of the specific 500mg dosing is not supported by any studies.

The Good

May help reduce the size and number of kidney stones in some individuals.

Plant-based supplement with a long history of traditional use.

Free of common allergens and additives.

The Bad

Limited human research to validate traditional uses.

Potential side effects like abdominal pain, painful urination, and nausea.

Risk of high potassium levels in some individuals.

Is it for you?

Best For: Individuals seeking natural support for kidney and liver health, those interested in traditional herbal remedies

Skip If: You are pregnant, nursing, have a bleeding disorder, or are on blood-thinning medications without consulting a doctor.
